About Marsden Grace Interiors
Elegant, unique, practical, and comfortable are just a few of the essential words that guide me when I’m thoughtfully designing interiors. Each space I create is carefully considered, ensuring it harmonises aesthetics with functional living needs. Particular attention is given to recognising and understanding your unique likes, dislikes, needs, and wants, ensuring that the final design created is one that you will truly love and appreciate.
I have over 10 years of experience working as a skilled upholsterer, but for the past few years, I have intentionally focused the business on providing exceptional interior and upholstery design services. This shift has allowed me to combine my passion for craftsmanship with a deep understanding of personal style to create unique and personalised spaces for my clients. I have supported this transition through specialist interior design courses at KLC School of Design, ensuring my service aligns with British Institute of Interior Design guidelines. I am also a member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen, with verified references. I utilise my extensive experience in working with a wide range of furniture, fabrics, and materials in all of my design projects, ensuring that each piece is crafted to the highest standards. I love seeing a newly designed bespoke piece of furniture come to life, along with an old antique piece of furniture being brought back to life to take its' rightful place centre stage!
Some of my influences have come from my previous profession as drama practitioner and a lecturer in Applied Arts. I studied Drama and Theatre Arts at Goldsmiths College, learning about philosophy, art movements and art history. Looking at costume, set design and props was a particular fascination. I must have subconsciously been preparing for a future career in design as my final dissertation was on Japanese architecture and how the way we live and experience a space has a direct impact on how we feel.
Throughout the website I refer to the business as a ‘we, our and us’, this is because I often work with other makers and trades, but otherwise I’m very much the leading lady!
